Jody, I liked your lesson a lot. I think you did a great job on keeping it simple for the students and focusing on what is important. In stage 3 you describe exactly how the students will be learning. It shows that they will be engaged and will be accountable for their learning through the assignments given. The only thing I could not use is the reference to the Bible and Scriptures because I work at a public school. But I can incorporate moral values for this part so I think anyone can use this lesson and modify it to their personal situation.
I like that you have students look for an example and a non example of your objective. I was wondering where you are going to have students provide these examples. Will you give them links and let them choose which is correct and not correct, or will they have to search out comments on their own? Also, are there any texts that will help guide them to understanding how to create netiquette? Or is the internet the only text they are using?
I wish I had read this before trying to do mine. So much simpler and clearer! You are fortunate to be able to mention Jesus in a moral context and as an example to support your big ideas that civility and netiquette are based on Biblical concepts of good and evil. Thank you!
